Driving for the Disabled Jersey

We are a newly set up charity to enable disabled people to drive.  Whether they already hold a valid Jersey driving licence and their circumstances have change due to an illness or an injury, or they are new drivers we are set up to get them driving in our specially adapted car.

With all new drivers disabled or otherwise it can be quiet an expense to have driving lessons and get up to test standard.
D.V.S now advises all new drivers to have 40 professional driving lessons before attempting there test!!!

What we would like financial help with is new drivers.  They often can not work  and their families are usually also their careers and therefore also are unable to work full time. This making money tight they can not afford a lot of lessons if at all.
However learning to drive is life change for disabled people some thing we as able bodied take for granted. Driving often opens other avenues for them as they become independent and often leads them to gaining employment, and therefore more self esteem and self worth.

Just sponsoring 10 lessons for new drivers would get them on the 'road' as it were! and maybe half way towards passing their driving test, therefore giving these young people the same chance as  the able bodied.

I have attached our flyer to this email.

Thank you very much for considering Driving for the disabled.
